DILLE TRAXEL Architecture is pleased to have been part of the Design-build team for the Cape Girardeau Fire Station No. 4, located in the Laurel Grove neighborhood on Lexington Avenue in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The new fire station is 12,248 sf and contains three large apparatus bays with overhead doors on both the north and south sides of the building. Individual bedrooms, a kitchen, dining area, offices and exercise room were included in the design, as well as, a second story training area for special rescue operations.
Commemorating the completion of the Cape Girardeau Fire Station No. 4, an open house and hose uncoupling ceremony was held on December 1 on site. Community members, city staff and neighbors attended the ceremony and toured the new facility.
